Seeking a Gottman-Trained Therapist to support individuals, couples and families in a thriving private practice

Role

We are looking for a fully registered Psychologist (AHPRA) or Counsellor (PACFA or ACA), with Level 2 or 3 Gottman training, to join us as a Business Associate under a Facilities and Services model (where you invoice for your own client fees and are responsible for your own tax, superannuation and professional indemnity insurance). We would also be interested in additional expertise in Family Therapy and/or Trauma.

  • Caseload: 16–20 clients per week

  • Focus: individuals and couples (and families, if relevant training)

  • Structure: some flexibility regarding days and times depending on office availability; as your caseload builds, this includes one out-of-hours block (evening or Saturday) to support your growing client base

  • Remuneration: competitive split of session fees - details discussed at interview

  • Zanda (practice management software), Zoom and Gmail provided

  • Administrative support for bookings via phone and online

  • Self-managed dynamic diary

  • Free monthly individual and group supervision

  • Role beginning January 2027 (with the possibility of starting earlier)

Lighthouse Relationships is a private practice that has been growing and thriving since 2021. With a niche focus on relationships, our practice is unique in that clinicians commonly have 70–80% of their caseload as couples. We have built our brand and reputation around providing excellent evidence-based couples therapy, grounded in the Gottman Method. As a result, we have an excellent referral base, community credibility and a wonderful team of like-minded clinicians.

Location

Lighthouse Relationships is conveniently located in the heart of Clayfield, embedded in a health hub with a dentist, podiatrist, optometrist and GPs. This inner-city location makes it an easy commute via car or public transport for clinicians and clients. There is onsite parking for clients and nearby street parking for clinicians, and plenty of nearby cafes.
