Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions before using this website or our services

Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our Privacy Policy govern Lighthouse Relationships’ (LHR’s) relationship with you in relation to your use of this website. By using this website, you indicate your acceptance of these terms and conditions of use. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “Us”, “Our” and “We” refers to Lighthouse Relationships (LHR) and “You” and “Your” refers to you, the client, visitor, website user, or person using our website.

Cancellation fees & ‘No show’ fees

We prefer notice a week ahead of a scheduled appointment, if possible, to allow others the opportunity to book in.

  • Bookings can be rearranged up to 48 hours (2 business days) ahead with no penalty.

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours (2 business days) attract an administrative charge that is 50% of the full session fee.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours (1 business day) attract an administrative charge that is 100% of the full session fee.

  • Non-attendance (or ‘No show’) at an appointment incurs a full fee charge - 100% of the session fee.

  • If the session in question is a ‘double session’ (110 mins), the percentages above apply to the full cost of the booking.

These fees are due to the fixed costs of running the practice as well as a way to try to keep our services accessible to as many people as possible. We have waiting lists and if you cancel with little or no notice, we are unable to offer the session to another client. The impact of this is that we miss the opportunity to serve, and another client who could have used the session misses the opportunity to access our service.

We will endeavour to highlight any significant or substantive changes to you where possible. Zero tolerance policy - abuse

Rude or aggressive behaviour towards our staff is unacceptable. We cannot see clients who are aggressive towards any of our staff or one another.

Zero tolerance policy - alcohol and other substances

Engaging in therapy sessions while under the influence of alcohol or other substances is strictly prohibited. Intoxication impairs cognitive function, judgment, and communication, which can compromise the effectiveness of therapy and pose safety risks. It is essential for clients to be in a sober state of mind during sessions to fully engage in the therapeutic process. Therapists reserve the right to terminate sessions if clients are intoxicated, and continued violation of this policy may result in king unable to continue therapy. Clients are still required to make payment for sessions they are unable to participate in due to intoxication; this is due to the fixed costs of business incurred.

Clients seeking support for alcohol-related issues are encouraged to seek specialised help from therapists trained in substance abuse or addiction. By participating in therapy sessions, clients agree to abide by this policy for the benefit of their own well-being and the effectiveness of the therapeutic process.

Further liability

Note that Lighthouse Relationships are not liable for any costs incurred (flights, etc), should there be a need to change the date of a scheduled booking (e.g. due to illness on your part or on the part of your relationship strategist/practitioner).

If this is a concern, please ensure you have appropriate insurances in advance - e.g. travel insurance if coming from overseas/long distance for your booking.

Presence of minors during session / on premises

It is not permitted to bring children into a session (including having your child in the same room with you during a Telehealth session).

It is also not permitted to leave your child in our waiting area, as we do not supervise this space and do not provide child care. Please make arrangements for childcare if necessary well before the date of your session.
